PACIFIC COAST ZEPPELIN LINE IS ORGANIZED
Form Huge Company To Run Ships From Pacific Coast to the Orient, Via Hawaii

AKRON, O., Dec. 16 (U.P.)—Definite organization of a huge company for the purpose of establishing a zeppelin airline between the Pacific coast points and the orient was announced here today by P. W. Litchfield, chairman of the board of the newly formed Pacific Zeppelin Transport company, Ltd.

Initial operations will be between the American coast and Hawaii until a fleet of ships is obtained. The ship would make the run between the coast of Hawaii in a day and a half, and the Manila in four days more.

AKRON, O., Dec. 16. (U.P.)—The first all-American zeppelin air ship line, under development by the Goodyear Tire & Rubber company, will have call upon the combined resources of steamship, airplane and financial interests of the country, it appeared here today.

P. W. Litchfield, chairman of the board of Pacific Transport company, today released a list of additional directors which bore out this idea.

The American owned steamship lines plying the Pacific are represented by R. Stanley Dollar, of the Dollar Lines, San Francisco; Harry Chandler, publisher of the Los Angeles Times, and head of the Los Angeles Steamship company; W. P. Roth, San Francisco, president of the Matson Navigation company, and Edward P. Farley, of the American Hawaiian Steamship company.

The airplane industry is represented by F. B. Rentschler, president of the United Aircraft and Transport company; G. B. Grosvenor, president of the Aviation corporation, and Colonel E. A. Deeds.

To these are added Clarence H. Cooke of the Bank of Hawaii; John R. Galt of the Hawaiian Trust company, and Walter Dillingham, representing the business interests of Honolulu; Herbert Fleischhacker of San Francisco, head of the Anglo London Paris bank; Kenneth R. Kingsbury, president of the Standard Oil company of California, and Henry Melony, attorney of Los Angeles.

Three New York financial houses took places on the directorate at the organization meeting of October 28 at New York through J. R. Ripley of the National City company; Allan Lehmann and Roland Palmedo, of Lehmann Bros., and E. O. McDonnell of the Grayson M. P. Murphy company.

The new company contemplates the establishment of an airship lane between the Pacific coast and the Orient, with initial operations to Hawaii until more ships are available.
