The Mails.—The Journal has discovered that the usual irregularities of the mails, in the winter season, instead of being attributable to the roughness of the roads, or the inclemency of the weather, or the tardiness of the contractors and mail-drivers, are altogether owing to the "rascally post masters," and the "stupid post masters." This is a notable discovery, and the terms are courtly terms. It is respectfully suggested whether the Journal would not be more at home, in pourtraying rascally editors, and stupid publishers.
The Editor of the Journal publicly proposes to reduce the compensation of the Post Master of this town—his private efforts to produce that result not having been crowned with the same success which once attended his labors in a similar case.
