FOR THE GAZETTE OF THE UNITED STATES.

Mr. Fenno,

I observe that the address of the asses, recommending their ticket, is to be translated into French;
but that appears unnecessary, for from the language
and style, every plain man who reads it must be convinced that it was originally composed in the French
language. I wish one of your French correspondents would inform me what these Antis mean by a tocsin, it is a foreign word we country people do not
understand; we wish in future they would write
intelligible language.
