Boston, September 23.-A special dispatch from Chicago to the Boston Journal says: Mrs. William B. Pennell of Brunswick, Maine, sister of the wife of the executive commissioner of Florida, while at the fair Friday, was brutally attacked and after being thrown six times to the ground was robbed of a leather bag containing $300 and some valuable diamonds.
E. Cavanaugh, foreman of the Westinghouse Electric company, is locked up charged with the assault. After identifying the prisoner Mrs. Pennell succumbed and took to her bed in the Florida state building.
At the time of the attack Mrs. Pennell was accompanied by Mrs. T. J. Spofford of Boston, who also identified Cavanaugh as the chief.
