SUSPEND CATCHER,
ILLNESS IS CAUSE

Eggleston Contracts Severe Case of Granulated Eyelids and Unable to Work Puts Club Under Limit,
Is Now Composed of Thirteen Men, Including Boyle-All Clubs Reduce Today.

Catcher Eggleston was suspended today by Manager Boyle. This action resulted from Eggleston's inability to work because of granulated eyelids, making it impossible for the backstop to see clearly. The suspension will last until the backstop has recovered which probably will be ten days or two weeks.

Eggleston is under the care of a physician. His case is regarded as a serious one, but the physician is confident that he will suffer no ill effects after he has recovered.

"Eggy" has been doing good work behind the bat for the Tribe and his loss would seriously cripple the team were it not for the fact that Boyle was fortunate in securing a good man in Brown. There seems to be little to choose between the work of the two men and either one is capable of making good on any team in the country in a league of this class.

The suspension of Eggleston makes it unnecessary for Boyle to release any of his men in order to get down to the thirteen player limit which all clubs in the league must do before tomorrow's games. The Indians are now composed of thirteen men, including Boyle. They are: Baum, Comstock and Le Beau, outfielders; Giffin, Swick, Hollocher and Harvey, infielders; Watkins, Penner, McCulloch and Asher, pitchers, and Brown, catcher.
