In the declaration which the Grand Signior has caused to be published by sound of trumpet thro'out his Empire, it is said, That his predecessor and brother had conceived the design of extirpating the Knights of Malta, and charged him by will to carry the project into execution. That tho' it had hitherto been delayed, he was now determined they should feel the consequences of his just wrath; and therefore ordered the assembling of all his Fleet, &c. at Constantinople, to take on board the army that will spread terror through the universe, and wash away the injury sustained in Christian blood. "By our invincible power! (concludes this declaration) all Christianity shall feel the just indignation we have conceived at the loss of our galleon."
