Rev. Armfield To Address The Junior Keglers
The newly formed Junior Classics Bowling League will start bowling tonight, 6:30, at Rollaway Lanes on Truman Avenue. Mayor C. B. Harvey is expected to be on hand to roll the first ball to start the league moving.
Rev. Armfield, Rector of the Episcopal Church and one of Key West's most active civic leaders, will be there to give the boys a short talk.
The activities are being sponsored by Kiwanis, Rotary, V. F. W., Lions, and the Knights of Columbus. The league was formed through the efforts of Mr. William Fradette and other bowling enthusiasts, who wished to give teenagers in the Key West area a wholesome sport and helpful guidance in combating juvenile delinquency.
Members of the league have previously met and have elected officers who are: President, Robert Sacker, vice president, Norman Campbell, and secretary-and treasurer, Frank Courtney. The membership was divided into six teams: Seven-Tenners, Kingpinners, Rebels, Rolling Devils, Turkey Kings, and Hot Shots. The league will bowl for twenty weeks.
