Full Text
Des Moines, Iowa, July 26.-The dreaded Kansas green bug has left its reservation in the Sunflower state and is now on the warpath in the wheat and oat fields of Iowa and Minnesota. According to reports received here from various parts of the state, the ravages of the insect will make much of the crop so worthless that it will never be cut. Many of the fields of late grain have turned brownish in color and only stand from four to six inches in height. All the strength has been sapped and the heads will never fill out. The bugs are especially fond of late oats and little of the late seeded oats will be harvested.
