Notes On Fair
Include Items of
Interest To All

Visitors at the Fair building during Fair Week August 19, 20. and 21, will find full provision made for their needs and comfort. Lunches will be served in the Homemaking room of the High School under the capable direction of Mrs. Helen Bockman during the full time of the Fair.

The weary worker who needs a cup of coffee during the assembling of the numerous exhibits will find the cheery lunchroom open for the "pause that refreshes".

The Camp Fire Girls are deeply engrossed in their plans for the sale of punch and candy at their refreshment booth on the main floor. Mary Hood Chapman is in charge of arrangements.

The Nome Territorial School exhibit will call the attention of out-of-town visitors to the excellence of the school work being done here and to the standing of our school in the front rank with other Alaskan city systems.

The main display booth of the Camp Fire Girls promises to be both colorful and educational.

The aims and achievements of this worthwhile group of girls and their leaders will be attractively presented.

Displays of ceremonial regalia, and examples of distinctive headbands made by the girls themselves will be only

movement is assured visitors to
their booth.

When prizes for the Model Mining
Machinery exhibit are awarded it is certain that the working
model steam drill recently constructed by Dan Jones, Frank O'Farrell, and Admiral Sims, will
attract the interest of the judges.
It is an all-steel construction and
works like the big ones.

are now planning a dredge

Sidney Rood, head of the Reindeer
Service sent letters several
weeks ago to outlying points calling the attention of potential exhibitors to the revised premium
list of the Reindeer Section. Exhibits are expected daily

Chief Laws of the City Fire and
Police Department is busy planning novel contests for the Children's Sports program. His selection as head of that committee
means that the sports will be well-organized and handled and
certainly pleases the youngsters.

That ardent fisherman, Superintendent of the Fish Division,
Charlie Code is out this week at
Iron Creek showing the boys how
it is done. On his return, revelations as to the best places to secure the prize winning catches
are in order.

Posters advertising the Fair are
today being sent by plane to outlying sections. Nothing is being
neglected toward making this
Fair and Midsummer Festival the
biggest and best Nome has yet
experienced.
