Translated for the Mercantile Advertiser from the Hamburgh Correspondent of October 4th.

Stockholm, September 23d, 1809.

It is reported that, agreeably to the Treaty of Peace concluded at Fredricshamm on the 17th inst. between Sweden and Russia, the former cedes to the latter the Grand Duchy of Finland and a part of Bothnia.—All the islands of Aland situated near the Coast of Sweden Proper, are restored by Russia, who retains those islands which lie near the coast of Finland.

Sweden shuts her ports against British ships of war, but leaves them open to merchant vessels carrying salt and colonial produce.
