Sept. 26. They write from Naples, that the new king of Spain hath established a new consultation of physicians and surgeons, to make a thorough inquiry, in presence of the royal council of St. Clare, the two chiefs of the Rota, and Mr. Clementi, the Spanish minister, whether, by some defect of his organization, the infant don Philip, duke of Calabria, his majesty's eldest son, be incapable of succeeding him: In which case the infant don Carlos, prince of Tarentum, his second son, will be declared prince of Asturias: and the infant don Ferdinand, his third son, will be proclaimed king of Naples: and it is said the ceremony of this young prince's coronation will be performed before the king his father sets out for Spain. The eldest of these three young princes entered his thirteenth year on the 14th of June; the second will compleat his eleventh year on the 12th of November, and the third was nine on the 25th of January last. Some Letters, by the way of France, say, that the eldest son hath been declared incapable, by an incurable defect in his understanding.
