LOCALS

H. W. Eveleigh returned the latter part of last week from Cedar Falls, Ia., where he spent several days visiting relatives. Mrs. Eveleigh will be the guest of her sister in that city for several weeks longer, returning to Rawlins some time the latter part of this month.

Geo. Gideon was a business visitor in this city for several days the latter part of last week from the Snake River valley, visiting friends and attending to matters of business.

Mrs. Geo. Stephenson was hostess on Wednesday afternoon of this week to the members of the Auction Club. Mrs. Stephenson served a dainty lunch during the afternoon and her guests report a most enjoyable afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Murphy of North Platte, Nebr., spent a day or so in this city the first of the week en route to their home from Los Angeles, where they have been spending some time. During their stay in Rawlins they were the guests of Mrs. D. R. House and Miss Mollie Penniston, being old friends of that family.

Miss Gladys Buchanan returned to her home in this city the latter part of last week from Denver, where she has been in the hospital for the past several weeks. Miss Buchanan recently underwent an operation for appendicitis in a Denver hospital and is now almost entirely recovered.

Mrs. Raymond Barber returned the first of the week from Denver, where she has been spending the past week on a business and pleasure trip.

John Hefferson of Laramie, representing the Rock Creek Producers Oil Co., was a business visitor in the city for a day or so the latter part of last week in the interest of his company.

Mrs. Frank Wilcox left the latter part of last week for Saratoga, where she will join her husband and they will spend several weeks there. Mr. Wilcox has a contract to drill several water wells in the vicinity of Saratoga and they expect to spend the next month or so in that section.

C. R. Watson was up from Denver the latter part of last week and spent several days here attending to business matters and visiting friends. Mr. Watson returned to Denver the first of the week, but states that he and Mrs. Watson will return to Rawlins about the middle of April and will spend the summer here.

Mr. and Mrs. H. Larsen returned on Sunday night last from California where they have been spending the past couple of months in the hope that the climate would benefit Mr. Larsen. He is somewhat improved in health.

Mrs. Carl Raife and small son returned the first of the week from Laramie, where Mrs. Raife recently underwent an operation in the hospital there. Mrs. Raife was accompanied by her sister, Mrs. L. E. Chandler, who is spending the week in this city.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Heward and Miss Annie Heward were business visitors in the city for a day or so the latter part of last week from the Difficulty section, attending to business matters here.

Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Ferris returned the latter part of last week from Denver, where they spent several days attending to business matters and visiting friends.

F. M. Johnston left the first part of the week for Denver, where he is spending some time attending to business matters and taking in the Auto Show there this week.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Anderson and small daughter left on Sunday last for Laramie, where they are spending this week as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Gottschalk. Mr. Anderson is a brother of Mrs. Gottschalk.

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Kendall were visitors in the city on Tuesday of this week from Wamsutter, visiting friends and attending to business matters. They returned home the same evening.

Dean R. F. Phillbrook returned the first of the week from Nebraska, where he has been spending the past couple of weeks attending to church matters, pertaining to the Inter-Church World Movement campaign which is being conducted at this time.

Mr. and Mrs. B. P. Parker and baby returned the first of the week from North Platte, Nebr., where they have been spending the past couple of weeks, visiting friends and relatives at Mrs. Parker's old home.
