ONLY SIX BUILDING PERMITS TAKEN OUT DURING DECEMBER,
The number of building permits issued during December by Myers C. Conwell, City Engineer was six; seven less than during the preceding month, and one less than during the corresponding month of last year.
They were issued as follows:
Thomas Norton; one house on the east side of Townsend street, between A and B streets, (South Wilmington.)
Wm. Allen: one house on the south side of Third street, between Van Buren and Harrison streets.
Mary Scanlon; one stable on the west side of Buttonwood street, between B and C streets, (South Wilmington.)
Bailey & Hughes; one house on the north side of Chestnut street, between Van Buren and Harrison streets.
Maris Taylor; two houses on the southwest corner of Eighth and Lincoln streets.
The following is the record by months during the year just closed:
January, 1; February, 3; March, 32; April, 22; May, 32; June, 31; July, 7; August, 53; September, 58; October, 12; November, 178; December, 6; Total, 269.
The number built during 1878 was 322.
