Senator-Elect Plans to
Visit Territory
During Coming Summer

R. B. Howell, of Omaha, Neb.,
Senator-elect
from
that
state,
will be able
to
visit the
Territory
next summer, accord-
ing to a letter just
received
from him by Gov. Scott C. Bone.

Mr.
Howell
defeated Senator
gilbert
M. Hitchcock for re-
election last November and will
be a member of the next Con-
gress.

He is deeply interested in the
Alaska Railroad and since his
election has been gathering data
on its construction and the coun-
try which it taps. He contem-
plates making the trip North
to go over the road and give it
a close personal study. He is a
student of railroad and highway
transportation. He is known
as a real progressive in politics
and will be an influential mem-
ber of the next Senate, said
Governor Bone.
