Mr. J. B. McFadden, the presiding officer of the Masonic fraternity at this place, returned on Friday from a trip to Charleston, where he very agreeably spent a few days in attendance upon the meeting of the Grand Lodge of the State.

He gives a pleasant account of the harmony and enthusiasm that prevailed among the members of the meeting. He represents them as having been faithful co-workers in the good cause of Masonry, and of having done all in their power to promote its welfare.

The Masonic brethren of this place are glad to hear of the appointment of Col. A. Coward, of Yorkville to the position of Deputy Grand Master of this District, which includes this and other neighboring counties. A better appointment could not have been made.
