The Rotary club at its meeting last Friday named the following committee to work with other Marion civic clubs in raising funds to purchase uniforms for the Marion High School Band: Marshall Dark, James McCall, David Gray, Dr. Lloyd Miller and Albert Hewitt.
Plans were made to observe Father and Son or Daughter night with a banquet in the community building.

Jack Hewitt, chairman of the Youth committee, will be in charge of arrangements.
Postmaster John Finley was guest speaker. He told of the duties of postal personnel, different types of mail and other phases of the work of the post office.
Following his remarks, his daughter, B. Linda Finley played piano selections of her own composition.
The speaker and his daughter were presented to the club by R. C. Spratt.
Gordon Morris was awarded a two-year perfect attendance pin.
John Laughridge was the honor student guest of the month.
R. K. Shotwell, Jr., of Asheville, was the guest of J. R. Jimison; Robert Rowe and G. R. Klutz were the guests of R. C. Spratt; R. L. Wiggins, principal Pleasant Gardens School, and the guest of J. H. L. Miller.
