Full Text

WILMINGTON, Nov. 22.

Messrs. Craig & Co.

In your paper of the 11th inst. I see an account from Poughkeepsie of an uncommonly large meteor, that appeared almost in the zenith; I saw the same meteor in Sussex county, due west from Cape-Henlopen. It appeared to me ten degrees above the horizon. The curious may, by taking the latitude of the Cape and of Poughkeepsie, allowing the height of the meteor in each latitude, nearly ascertain the distance of the meteor from the earth. This done with precision, would be very agreeable to one of your constant readers in Sussex county.
