C. W. Davis, county clerk, completed
his investigation of the books of P. H.
Sapp, who prepared the 1918 assessment
abstract for 1919 taxes, today
and sent the report to the State Board
of Equalization which is now in session
at Jefferson City.
Mr. Davis was asked by the county
court to prove the assessor's books
following his report submitted early
in January. The report shows the total
value of the real estate to be $20,579,582
and the personal property to be worth
$7,479,876.85, giving a total of
$28,059,458.85. This shows a gain
of almost two million dollars over the
valuation report of last year.
