Full Text

School Officers.
State Superintendent Salmon makes the following correction of a report concerning school officers as given in a dispatch from Pierre on the 4th inst: Having been informed that in a late issue of The Press was a statement that a circular sent out from this office pronounced all 1893 "school officers" illegally elected. I would state for the information of school officers that the circular in question refers to "school directors" only who are not members of the school board nor elected on the same day as members of the board, but are custodians of school property, in districts containing more than three schools and act under direction of the board. Kindly make the correction and by so doing oblige yours very truly,
C. G. SALMON,
Superintendent of Public Instruction.
