Millionth Barrel of Oil Produced from the Kenai Peninsula

ANCHORAGE (AP) - Officials of Standard Oil Co. of California unofficially estimate that the millionth barrel of crude oil was produced this week from the Swanson River field on Kenai Peninsula.

The Swanson field, only commercial producing field in the state, is currently the scene of most of the state's drilling activity. One completion was recorded this past week, rigging up is under way on two new locations and four wells are now being drilled.
