VAGRANT John Castello was taken to the watch-house drunk. This morning, on examination, he pleaded guilty, and promised amendment if Justice Hollingshead would make it as light as possible.- When he found that he was sent to the work-house for thirty days, he anxiously inquired if the sentence couldn't be lighter than that," and was informed that, in the opinion of the court, it would take him that long to come to his senses. When we left he was making ready for his ride to the Springs.

But one solitary lodger claimed the hospitality of Capt. Birch last night.
