Prizes In Whist Series
The grand finale for the winter card series at the Pioneer Igloo was held Saturday evening with Mrs. Louise Bockman and Dan Berrettini the winners of the 1955 trophies. Mrs. Bockman was presented with a lovely necklace and earrings of Alaska gold dust as it is traditional to make the grand prizes of native gold. Berrettini's prize was a jade ring. Runners up were Mrs. Helen Dunbar, who received nugget earrings, and George Waldhelm who was awarded a nugget tie clasp.
Third prizes were awarded to Mrs. Doris Wilkie, a jade and nugget brooch, and Luther Dunbar, jade and gold cuff links.
Winners of the evening's games were Beni Mozee and Norma Scott, first; Luther Dunbar and Doris Wilkie, second; Maurice Kelliher and Ilene Schick, third.
Mike Kelly and M. J. Walsh assisted in tallying the scores for the final count.
