District Judge Black came down from Montrose Monday evening, and on Tuesday morning held a special session to dispose of the case of John Frederick Wallace and Herbert R. Little, the two men who were caught with the goods taken from the vault of the Crawford State Bank on the night of August 12th.
Both young men pleaded guilty and after a few formalities in the way of testimony by E. A. Browne, president of the bank, and Sheriff M. A. Davis, the judge sentenced them to a period of not less than four, nor more than six years in the state penitentiary. They were taken over by the sheriff Wednesday morning and have already begun serving their time.
Young Little resided in the Paonia section about ten years ago and was reported to be industrious and of good reputation.
The evidence developed that there were three others who made a getaway traveling in another direction over Black Mesa.
