Full Text

We have received a communication in reply to the editor of the Patriot's abusive remarks against the town of Portsmouth, and its representatives. We decline publishing it, simply because Mr. Hill's remarks can do no injury to either. The character of the town of Portsmouth stands high in the state, and the public have duly appreciated the merits and services of its very respectable and patriotic Representatives.

It requires something more than the mere attack of a wasp to enlist their friends in their defence.
