Friday a Red Letter Day for the Baptist Church.
The corner stone for the new Baptist church edifice in this city will be laid this afternoon at 4 o'clock corner Noble avenue and Vine streets.
The structure will be the first brick and stone church in Guthrie and the finest church building in Guthrie when completed and the citizens generally should turn out and attend the exercises.
The program will be as follows:
Hymn.
Invocation.
Address-Subject: The church as related to a community.-L. L. Bass, D. D., Oklahoma City.
Address-Subject: Eastern help an incentive to give.-Rev. L. J. Dyke, Secretary Baptist Missions.
State of treasurer. W. Kaylor.
Statement for the building committee by Rev. L. H. Holt.
Placing stone.
Prayer.
Hymn.
Following this a genuine New England supper will be served by the ladies of the congregation, the proceeds to apply to the building fund. Everybody cordially invited.
The supper will be served from 5:30 p.m. till later in the evening, thereby giving business and all others an opportunity to take supper at the church and aid in raising much needed funds toward the completion of the building.
