NEWSBOYS AT THE PEOPLE'S
They Immensely Enjoy the Play—A Game for Memorial Day,

Two boxes at the People's Theatre Saturday night held the newsboy ball-players of The Evening World and the Brooklyn World, but couldn't begin to hold their feelings over "Lost in New York."

Though disappointing circumstances prevented the appearance of the boys in their uniforms, the big audience soon found out who were the occupants of those boxes, and the boys received special attention between the acts. The Brooklyn contingent bore the handsome foul flags presented by Corinne.

The boys were quick to appreciate the realistic features of the performance and very heartily manifested their approval of all the character portrayals, from the New York waif of Paris to the merry gasman, the unconscionable villain, the good policeman and the impulsive old lawyer.

Manager J. Charles Davis was as much pleased over the boys' pleasure as the boys were with the play, and he may be sure that both clubs and the management appreciate his courtesy.

The gigantic ideas which were to have fitted themselves to the newsboy game in Brooklyn to-day will be readopted and rearranged for Thursday afternoon. As the Brooklyn Association team will play two games on Wednesday there is no likelihood of any disappointment for the boys' game of Thursday. The weather, it is believed, will have by that time exhausted itself so far as to be unable to present further discouragements. Game will be called at 2 o'clock.

Individual photographs of The Evening World players will be made to-morrow in accordance with the request from Manager Hunt, of the Rochester Post-Express, and the members of the team will report at this office at 9:30 A. M., sharp.
