An affair at the St. Mark Baptist Church, under leadership Woodrow Wilson Sunday broke all attendance records for the church. It was the annual musical birthday tea. 12 tables, presented by the Missionary Society of the church. Mrs. Faye Bruce church woman and school teacher presided. She was introduced by Mrs. Marsetta Wells. Mrs. Emma P. Milner, former president of the Women Department of the B.M&E State Convention of Michigan, was guest. Also appearing were Mrs. Lassie Pride, Beverly Tyner, Mrs. Ora Mansfield, Mr. Alvin Molden, Mrs. Fannie Poole, Merri Hollander Singer, Mrs. Barbara V. Turner, Frances Lee, Deacon J.J. Williams gave remarks. Mrs. Leala Hassell sang. Also Mr. Clifton Herron sang and Miss Rodema Royal gave a reading. Captains who served for months were Savilla Calhoun, Grace Miller, Z. Pollard, D. Clay, Mammie Rother, Irene West, Marsetta Wells, Doris Lemons, Ollie Cornelius, Sallie Wilson, Marie Ralph, and M. Baldwin. More than $200 was raised.
