Carthage, Ill., Oct. 5, '83.
Ed. Freeman: Dear Sir:—Enclosed please find $1.00, 25c of which you will credit to my subscription, and for the remainder send the FREEMAN to Mrs. J. B. Strader, Carthage, Ill., for six months.
Temperance work is booming in this part of the country. I wrote you a card while in Quincy to discontinue my paper until further notice. You will please send it to Sonora, Ill., until further notice. I will teach at that place. Success to you in your noble work.
