The Baton Rouge Gazette, speaking of the Rev. C. K. Marshall, says, that he preached to crowded audiences, and the editor does not recollect ever to have listened to an exposition of the truths of the Gospel in richer and more eloquent language, and at the same time, easy to be understood by all, than his two sermons on last Sabbath. He says farther that Mr. M., has often trimmed the midnight lamp in the pursuit of his studies and his industry, perseverance and success stand as a monument to shew the young what can be achieved by application and the cultivation of those principles which, while they elevate the man, make him useful to his age and generation.
