Lake County 4-H Club Teams Demonstrate At Helena State Fair

Two 4-H Club teams from Lake county have won trips to the State fair at Helena where these teams will demonstrate in state-wide competition, according to County Agent L. B. Miller.

The Moiese Willing Workers' Club team, consisting of Juanita Kiracofe and Katherine Johnson, won the trip in the Home Products division in a close contest last Saturday in Ronan when they competed against the 4-H Bluebell Home Furnishing Club team of Polson, composed of Mabel Anderson and Jessie Conn. Mrs. E. M. Evanson is local club leader of the Polson team and had charge of the demonstration team, and Mrs. L. O. Smith of Moiese is local club leader of the Willing Workers, and has charge of the demonstration team of that club.

The Bluebell team demonstrated beds and bed making and the Willing Workers team demonstrated window drapes and draping. Mrs. John Martin of Ronan was the judge of the contest and was greatly pleased with the quality of the demonstrations.

The farm Products 4-H Clubs of the county will be represented at the State Fair by a team from the Lake County Dairymen Juniors 4-H club. The team consists of Charles and Lee Burns of Polson, who will demonstrate clean milk production. Mr. Chas. Leavell is local leader of this club and has been closely identified with it and active in its leadership during the four years it has been organized.

A judging team will also represent Lake County 4-H club work at Helena. Charles and Lee Burns and Lloyd McAllister will be the team. Breeding stock of dairy cattle, beef cattle, hogs and sheep will be judged.

Mrs. L. B. Miller, and Theo Fosse, Smith-Hughes agriculture instructor of the Polson high school, have been active in supervising the training of the teams.

The teams will leave Sunday, September 5, for Helena, and will be the guests of the Fair association for the week. Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Miller will have charge of the teams at Helena.
