The Statesman of the 17th, contains the official vote of the State, and gives the following footings:
GOVERNOR.
Gov. Wood's vote is 145,604
Vinton's 119,596
Wood's majority, 26,008
This differs a few votes it will be seen from the columns published a few days since. We are informed this occurs from an error discovered in the returns from Lorain county.
LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR.
Medary's vote is 146,052
Eckly 119,977
Medary's majority 26,075
SECRETARY OF STATE,
Trevitt's vote 145,634
Bill 120,251
Trevitt's majority 25,383
AUDITOR OF STATE.
Morgan's vote 145,617
Woods 123,560
Morgan's majority 22,057
Some three thousand free soilers, deserted their candidate, Mr. Heaton, and voted for the re-election of Auditor Wood.
TREASURER OF STATE.
Breslin 146,301
Bliss 124,554
Breslin's majority 21,747
On Mr. Breslin the great effort was made. The most powerful effort was made to unite all the free soil vote on Mr. Bliss. by the public withdrawal of Mr. Plants, the Free Soil nominee, and by urging every bolting faction to vote against Breslin. The result is his election by nearly twenty one thousand majority! Never was there a sublimer rebuke given to the puny efforts of bolterism.
ATTORNEY GENERAL.
Pugh 147,057
Stanberry 119,423
Pugh's majority 27,634
This is a grand triumph for Mr. Pugh and a severe defeat to the whigs, for Mr. Stanberry was their great Lawyer light of the State, and uniformly decided all the acts of the whig party to be constitutional.
SUPREME JUDGES.
Caldwell, the highest candidate on the democratic ticket has 161,150
Way, the lowest of the whig ticket, has 119,000
Caldwell's majority 42,150
Ranney, the next highest over Way has 41,954 majority! These two democrats were run on the free soil ticket, with Andrews and Storer, whigs, and the vote shows the immense minority the whigs of Ohio are really in. Their location up Salt River must be at the very source-a little higher than any other set of men ever got.
Corwin, who is a few votes the lowest on the democratic ticket, has 145,099
Storer, the highest on the whig ticket, has 135,916
Corwin's majority 9,183
The Whigs were confident of electing Andrews and Storer, but this result shows how far they were out of their reckoning, and how little they knew about the politics of the State. But we presume they went on the principle that "ignorance is bliss" and hence they did not try to become "wise By this time we presume, like Adam in the Garden of Eden, they have got their "eyes opened," and "know good from evil."
BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
For three years, Miller has 145,431
Segur 120,106
Miller's majority 25,325
For two years, Manypenny has 145,437
Conway 120,819
Manypenny's majority 24,618
For one year, Steedman has 144,387
Lyman 121,533
Steedman's majority 22,854
The free soil vote as our tables show run from 13, to 16,000, thus leaving the Democrats a large majority over all opposition.
