Full Text

"Conservative Ticket."

The Cecil Democrat and its rebel party having given their "unsteady allies" the husks while they reserved to themselves the kernel, in the recent nominations for county officers, drop entirely out of sight the title of "Democratic," and publishes nothing but "Conservative" over the ticket. Having succeeded in cheating the Conservatives out of the nominations, the next point is to cheat them out of their vote, hence they say, "you take the name and we'll take the candidates."

It is the Indian and the white man over again. "You take the buzzard and I'll take the turkey; or I'll take the turkey and you take the buzzard." They never say turkey to their allies once. The Conservatives are welcome to all of the name, after the nominations worth having, are given to the rebels. Will the Conservatives still continue to play the role of blind mice?
