Pistol Game Is Fatal To Youth
UNION, Mo. ( )—Sheriff H. Bill Miller says an 18-year-old youth was accidentally shot and killed as he and a friend held a "quick draw" contest.
He identified the victim as Charles G. Muehling, who was shot Saturday night at a Bourbeuse River clubhouse where he had gone for a weekend outing with two companions, Frank Laura, 21, and Vincent Oliver Baum Jr. All were St. Louis youths.
The sheriff said Baum and Muehling began practicing "quick draw" with .22-caliber target pistols.
