CURLEY HAS BIG LEAD IN MASSACHUSETTS

BOSTON, Sept. 21.—(UP)— Former Governor James M. Curley led a "victory parade" thru the rain-drenched streets of downtown Boston late last night as he piled up a commanding lead over Governor Charles F. Hurley in the primary battle for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination.

Showing surprising strength in towns and villages, Curley polled his usual heavy vote in most cities and drew away from Hurley in sharp spurts as returns came from the 388 precincts of the Curley stronghold of Boston.
