PHILADELPHIA. July 20.

The arrival of the French 74 gun ship, with a number of armed vessels on our coast, has entirely opened the navigation of the Delaware and the Chesapeake, the British cruisers having thought proper to provide for their own safety, by prudently repairing to Sandy-Hook.

The above ship was in the action with Count de Grasse, was engaged for several hours with two British 74's, and had 50 men killed, besides a great number wounded.

She is supposed to be one of the swiftest sailing ships in the world.
