The time is near at hand when the "strong pull" for our national representatives is to be made. The general good requires that gentlemen of leisure and talents, whose bosoms are warmed more by a love of country than self aggrandizement, should devote a reasonable part of their leisure in assisting to counteract the falsehoods and erroneous opinions which "the times we live in" have let loose among us.
If we may judge from the spontaneous expression of public sentiment, manifested by recent petitions, as well as in the rapid increase of our subscribers, we confidently believe that the cause of Federalism and Truth will triumph over lying democracy at the ensuing election. We have, therefore, the pleasing prospect exhibited to us of a speedy restoration of our Constitutional Rights and Privileges. Vigilance and Union will ensure success.
Our extracts from English and Spanish papers in this day's Gazette, will be found highly interesting—to give place to which, much interesting matter is omitted.
"Roland," No. 3, is received, and will be attended to in our next.
