On Saturday last arrived here a Spanish prize now called La Virgin de Brigonia, laden with salt, Joseph Gregorio late master, which, with another vessel, brigantine, was cut out of the harbour of the town of Campeachy, in the bay of the same name, on the 22d of May last, by the brigantine Hawke, Capt. Henry Brown, and the sloop Hope, Capt. John Stuart, two privateers belonging to Jamaica. The prizes were both sent for Jamaica on the 24th of May, but the snow's provisions falling short, the prize master was obliged to make for this port, and had but two days provisions left when he got in here.

Two days before the privateers cut out those vessels, they landed, and took the Spanish town of Sisal, in the province of Yucatan, about 20 or 30 leagues to windward of the town of Campeachy, where they got some plunder; but another privateer had been beforehand with them, & had carried off the most valuable effects. Sisal consisted of about 70 houses, which the inhabitants refusing to ransom them, were burnt by the privateers people.
