What is this article about?

Report from Presbourg on August 17: The city has been declared free of plague with guards enforcing entry certificates; contagion persists in nearby Tyrnau with access blocked. Rumors suggest the Imperial Court may end the Turkish War by ceding Belgrade and Temeswar, but these are deemed unfounded given the Russian Army's proximity to Transilvania's frontiers.

Full Text

Presbourg, Aug. 17. This City is now happily rid of the Plague, and a Line has been drawn round about it, where Guards are posted, in order to hinder any Persons from coming in who are not provided with good Certificates from the Imperial Commissaries. As the Contagion has broke out at Tyrnau, a Town six Leagues from hence, all the Avenues to it have been shut up. We talk variously of the State of Affairs in this Kingdom; most People have a Notion that the Imperial Court will resolve to put an End to the Turkish War; and for that Purpose deliver up Belgrade and Temeswar to the Grand Seignior: But these are only Conjectures which appears to have but little Foundation, considering that the Russian Army is so near the Frontiers of Transilvania.
