Full Text

A late letter from Ireland, contains the pleasing intelligence that every thing was quiet and peaceable in that kingdom at the date of this communication. Even the White Boys in the southern parts of the island, whose abominable riots and cruel excesses had spread an alarm all over the British dominions in Europe, were reposing in the bosom of profound tranquility; which happy change for the better is principally ascribed to General Lord Luttrell's distinguished humanity and prudent conduct, when he commanded the army employed to reduce those deluded insurgents to obedience; and it is infinitely to the honor of his Lordship, that he appeased the dangerous tumults which degraded his country, without blood-shed.
