Thirty of the 41 4-H clubs in Roosevelt county and on the Fort Peck reservation participated in the seven-point 4-H victory program. The seven points included food production and conservation, saving for victory, health, defense activities, democratic practices interpreting democracy and war-time discussions.
The Garden club members raised 12 acres of garden and the food preservation canned 4,685 pints of food. Other members took food preparation, potatoes and other food production projects.
These members collected 38 tons of scrap iron; 31½ tons of scrap rubber, 46 pounds of scrap fats, one-half ton wastepaper, 170 pieces of aluminum-copper, 100 pounds of rags and 4 dozen phonograph records.
Boys and girls reported doing 12,000 hours of work to help with the farm and home labor shortage. All 4-H club members report that they own $1,825.00 worth of war stamps and bonds.
All the clubs carried a health program that emphasized food for good posture and health and took part in citizenship meetings, discussions and demonstrations, and democracy plays.
