Only a Mistake.
Foraging by night seems to be a favorite diversion of the Montenegrins; but, it sometimes leads to awkward complications. The unpleasantness which occurred the other night, when a party of them gathered around a small Turkish village for the purpose of robbing it, was particularly unfortunate. At about the same moment, another party, intent on the same pastime, appeared in the neighborhood. In the darkness two bands mistook each other for Turks, and acted accordingly. When daylight came the error was discovered, and on sweeping up the field about seven hundred dead bodies were found.
