Shooting deer in Bingham county is prohibited under the game laws, and deer are getting so tame they meander the streets--or at least that happened in one instance last Friday. and Harley Lauderdale is credited with shooting it, not knowing the law. People have been out deer hunting and bringing back trophies of the chase, and Harley brought down the trophy without the chase.
There are a dozen or so deer along the Blackfoot river east of town, and the game warden and sportsmen have been keeping track of them to some extent with a view of protecting them.
When this one was killed it was reported to Deputy Game Warden Lewis Robbins. who filed a complaint against Mr. Lauderdale and he was fined $25 for violating the game law in a county that is closed to deer hunting.
