Full Text

A late Dublin paper says, that immediately after the arrival of the intelligence of the defeat of the Catholic question in the House of Commons, orders were sent to the Pigeon House to forward five million rounds of musket ball cartridges to the different garrisons throughout the country. Commenting upon this very extraordinary statement, the London Times feelingly exclaims. 'Here then is the commentary upon that text which the Orangemen have delivered to Parliament for the guidance of their policy towards the Irish nation. Men demand their rights, and the answer is five millions of leaden bullets. Almost a ball cartridge a piece for the poor Catholics of Ireland! God help them!'
