CASE IS PAROLED BY ORDER
OF COURT.
After serving a little over a month in the county jail, Frank Nugent, the friend of Chief of Police Sullivan and the prosecuting attorney's office, has been released from the county jail.
Nugent was arrested for causing the downfall of Octavia Redfield. This was after an order had been telephoned over to Rathdrum, where he was in custody, by Chief of Police Sullivan, commanding that he be released.
Later, when the pressure got too strong the sheriff's office took the case up and arrested Nugent at Rathdrum.
After the arrest the prosecution of Nugent was delayed until publicity through The Press forced the officials to take action.
When placed on trial for the crime Nugent entered a plea of guilty and was given a six months' jail sentence by Judge Kennan. Now the jail records show that Nugent was paroled by the court after having served but a month of his sentence.
Why the effort to befriend and lighten the burden of Nugent's offense can not be understood. Nugent is a married man and became intimate with the girl when they were jointly employed at John W. Graham's store.
