BE JUST.
The Houston Post-Democrat says:
"Holding office in Texas seems to have
a bad effect on Democratic eyes. The
United States census bulletin shows that
there were 9,400,000 head of cattle in
the state, worth an aggregate value of
$163,000,000. The assessors failed to find but 8,600,000 head last year, and the discrepancy in cattle is but one of many
instances going to show that the business of Democratic assessing is very hard
indeed on the eyesight.
The Post-Democrat should not let
party zeal blind its sense of justice. The
tax assessor is not necessarily to blame.
It's the tax dodger who conceals the
facts from him and tax dodging is not
confined to any party.
