A communication to the editor from Lemuel Cornick, and John Cornick, Esquires, Commissioners of Wrecks for Princess Anne County, dated "Ten miles North of Currituck Inlet, Dec. 24th, 1821," gives the melancholy intelligence of the wreck of the schr. Sophia, Thomas Massey, Master, and, of the loss of all on board except one man. It is not stated at what time she went ashore. The Sophia was from Philadelphia, with an assorted cargo, and was bound to this port and Baltimore; vessel (as stated by the surviving man) consigned to Wm. Babbington at the former, and Eli Boldison at the latter place. A number of Boxes of goods had come ashore, directed to various persons in this town, and some for the U. S. Artillery at this port. The vessel had gone to pieces.
