Full Text
Denver is in the throes of a controversy in its council over the question of permitting skyscrapers to be erected. An organization known as the Puget Sound Company desires to erect a twelve-story building. It is being opposed by many upon the ground that it will destroy the architectural beauty of the Queen City of the Plains. The argument is poorly taken. The great buildings of today are the logical result of conditions in the big cities where trade and commerce must be concentrated. If Denver does not want to spoil its skyline, The Sentinel extends a most cordial invitation to the Puget Sound Company or any other company to come to Grand Junction and take up as much of the atmosphere above the city as such company may desire.
