Penitentiary.
By the arrival of eight new prisoners
at the penitentiary today the highest
notch in the
number enrolled
was
reached. The total number of convicts now serving at the state institution
is 701. Those who were received
today were the following:

Thurston
county
Charles
Clark, under sentence of death for
murder of his mistress at Olympia.
From King county—E. A. Yates. assault to commit murder. two years;
George Williams, assault with deadly
weapon, one year; Arthur Clegg, burglary one and one-half years; Thomas
Gray. burglary.

larceny
from
person, two years; W. L. McKermon.
assault with attempt to commit sodomy, one year; J. B. Allison, robbery,

Allison is a negro, who was recently
released from the penitentiary, and
