BURGLAR LOOTS VAN DYKE HOME OF $1,100 GEMS

The home of Douglass Van Dyke, 1305 North Prospect ave., was entered by a burglar early yesterday who escaped with jewelry valued at $1,100.

He was interrupted by a nurse, Mrs. E. J. Robinson, who is attending Mrs. E. O. Silver, mother-in-law of Mr. Van Dyke. The loot included a diamond ring, a diamond pin and a watch, all heirlooms.

Gems of Mrs. Silver.

The jewelry belonged to Mrs. Silver. The ring was given to her by her husband on the day they became engaged, nearly 50 years ago.

The burglar entered by removing a pane of glass from a rear window. Mr. Van Dyke is attorney and secretary of the Van Dyke Knitting Co. His family is prominent in society.
