Full Text

To shew there is not that distress in America and the want of capitals and money in trade, which the English papers so frequent labour to hold out, the sloop Sally sailed from the United States on the first January last for China—This vessel was a sloop of 110 tons burthen her cargo and outfit amounted to near fifteen thousand pounds, and the whole vessel and cargo was owned by Mr. Stewart Dean, who went in her himself on such a distant and perilous voyage—What a great pity it is that some of our opulent merchants and citizens do not shew a like spirit for adventure.
